What is Bloom's Taxonomy??

What is Bloom's Taxonomy?

Bloom's Taxonomy is a hierarchical model designed to classify educational learning objectives into levels of complexity and specificity. Created by Benjamin Bloom, this framework helps educators clearly define and structure learning outcomes from foundational knowledge to advanced cognitive skills.

Why Use Bloom’s Taxonomy for Continuing Education?

Ensures clear and measurable learning objectives.

Promotes higher-level thinking and practical application of knowledge.

Enhances learner engagement and retention

Brief Overview of Each Category:

  1. Comprehension (Explain concepts): Ability to explain or summarize concepts in one's own words.

  2. Application (Use information in new ways): Ability to use learned information in new and practical situations.

  3. Analysis (Break information into parts): Ability to break down information into its constituent parts and understand relationships.

  4. Synthesis (Develop new products or ideas): Ability to produce new or original work by combining elements in innovative ways.
